Cycle insurance

Hi folks,

Does anyone have any recommendations when it comes to explicit cycle theft insurance rather than relying on their house & contents cover?

I've got the British Cycling 'third party' cover should I clatter into anyone when out on the bike but having 4/5 bikes now, none of whose value would be covered by the h&c cover, I'm looking to take out some insurance to cover them against theft.

I'm only really bothered about theft from the home as work is super secure (famous last words) and don't use them for popping down the shops so there's no chance they'd get nicked in that way

I know this doesn't 100% answer your question, but have a look at PedalCover http://pedalcover.co.uk/
I swapped to them 12 months ago as cheaper than my existing John Lewis policy for home insurance but really with good bike cover, especially for multiple bikes.
Darren is a cyclist and really helpful, when I had to make a claim this year he sorted it out for me.
Another advantage is he uses a policy to insure the excess which will also covers car policy.

I've got both bikes insured with Yellow Jersey. They include various accessories cover and another set of wheels.

Hopefully, will never need to make a claim. But that'll be when I find out if they're any good.

check out various "high net worth" insurance policies.

My current policy costs around £500/yr for a silly amount of cover including the bikes (edit: no limit on the bikes) and worldwide accidental/theft cover. pm me if you want more details.

Fortunately we haven't had to claim but the price and service has been very good.

Try Bikmo, unrivalled in terms of price when I looked for cover.

Can recommend Bikemo, I had to make a £3k claim 2 weeks after starting the policy and had the money in my account 5 days after submitting the claim!

Bikmo works out at £380 for 1 no £6k bike for me, Which is way more than John Lewis, I do have to check cover levels as it covers "in the hold" of the plane as well as £600 of accessories.

Thanks for reminds me, I assume no one knows anyone else which does short term travel insurance including hold cycles?
