Looking to tap into the collective knowledge on this section of the site.

I want to buy my wife a watch for christmas budget circa 2k, she likes the style of the Omega Seamaster dive type watches, the simpler steel ones without sparkly bling.

Any recommendations or other brands and models worth considering?

She has good taste then. My only advice is ... avoid any TAG. That may seem a bit of an all encompassing statement but they really are not as good as they used to be and their service is frankly abysmal (and very expensive!). Stick to the Rolex, Breitling, Omega's of this world and I think you should be fine.

Thanks Johnniem, I did have a physical look at a similar style Tag, and I realise its subjective but it felt cheap, more akin to a sub £100 Casio than a premium brand.

If she wants a Seamaster, I'd get her one or she'll be disappointed

Good point, final question any recommendations of where to buy? I prefer to give my cash to an independent or smaller store where possible.

Also - consider getting her a mans watch, imo they look good on a ladies wrist

Contact Dom H, I've bought 2 watches from him and wouldn't hesitate to deal with him again. He was extremely helpful with a recent Omega warrantee claim.

The 36mm Co-Axial Seamaster would suit, the reference is 212.30.36.20.01.001, just a tiny bit over budget but it is lovely.
