Returns tonight. Jezza presenting. Suspect he is going to get a lot of grief from Hislop and Merton.

Can see Ian Hislop getting heated and then saying better not argue or he will be punched.

Should be good.

Isnt it about time HIGNFY was put out of its misery ?
(of course I will be watching it as its funny and Jezza is on smile)

I say we put it out of it's misery when it stops being relevant. Which will be about the same time the news is not relevant.

scratchchin which based on most news stories was about a decade ago...bugger

How good HIGNFY largely depends on who else is on. Sometimes you get people who set the others off and even if they are not funny themselves the way Merton and Hislop go for them is. Best example of that is Merton vs Kilroy-Silk.

I found Richard Osman (sp?) quite OTT in his attacking of clarkson. Bit awkward really.

Yes I've always held RO in high regard, but.last night was cringe worthy. He is way cleverer Tha the cheap shots he was throwing at JC last night.

I think JC held his own though

I quite like RO normally but he was out of order last night. Spoiled what could have been a good episode.

Have to disagree. I thought he landed several good blows on Clarkson.

sounded very much like a dose of jealousy to be honest....

I usually like him too, but this was just OTT

It was all a bit unpleasant which marred otherwise funny bits. There was some very staccato editing, especially towards the end. Not sure why they had Clarkson on, he didn't seem like he wanted to be there and seemed quite unwelcome by the panel.

I though that he came across really badly. Just sneering and having a go at Clarkson rather than being funny or quick.

I missed it on Friday but a mate said it seemed rather weirdly edited together in places. The extended version is meant to be on at 10.35pm on Monday night and that normally includes a fair chunk of all the stuff that gets cut from the 25 minute episode shown on a Friday, so hopefully some of it will make more sense without bits cut out.

Osman didn't do himself any favours with his anti Clarkson shtick, he's usually brilliant.

It seemed very odd , as though he had been told to do it.

I thought it was a pretty weak episode all round.

One of the worst I've seen in recent series, Clarkson completely out-witted on several occasions.

Very odd. Some Richard Osmans digs at JC were very personal it seemed like. I wonder if RO has some kind of personal dislike of Clarkson and decided to go for him.

I also wonder if RO and Camilla Long had decided to try and wind him up so they could get some punching jokes in. Broadly though Hislop left him alone.
