mudguards for a 29er?

Going to be riding my Cube 29er through winter

looking at mudguards for it

It does have a thin bracket above the rear wheel and eyelets next to it.

I'd prefer the close fitting ones.

Just on road then? (mud will clog close fitting ones)
What width tyres - add a bit and find something from SKS. (Halfords do most of them)

Off road I just use a bender fender front guard to keep actual ste off my face.

Ooh that's easy then, I posted a pic on S10GTA's thread with my SKS Touring 45s over my 38c's. Sturdy and quiet.

Not sure about the fork mounting on an MTB though.

I think its going to be a helicopter tape and zip tie job
