I am not sure if it's related or not, but in my Tamora, the gear stick/knob only got unbearably hot after I had the gearbox upgraded. When I removed the centre tunnel, I could see why.
The lower rubber boot/gaiter was not stuck back down properly, leaving massive gaps for the heat to escape through to the upper leather gaiter. I bought another gaiter in heat reflective material and secured it properly with Sikalfex and now, there is no heat through the gearstick and the knob remains cool.
Just thought I'd mention it as it may be worth checking - if someone has worked on or around that area, chances are they didn't secure the gaiter properly.

Where did you get the gaiter from Chris? The originals are eluding me at present.
I bought this:http://www.nimbusmotorsport.com/ProdShop2.asp?id=7...
Only because my original was beyond saving (had been Sikaflexed in place and removed one too many times..) I had to cut the new gaitor down slightly, as it was too large at the bottom, but it seems to work.
I would think that most people's original will be OK, it will just need sealing properly to stop the heat escaping.
I was shocked at just how much heat came up through the gearstick when the gaiter wasn't secured as it should have been.
(I am assuming the Tuscan parts are the same as the 'T' cars)

Ok can do, how shall I run with it as ultimately the responsibility for production will be on you, if I just start a thread and you can give a cut off date and we can take it from there? Or separately if there is not enough interest is there a possibility of passing over details of manufacture so I can have a one off made?
