My son wants to put road tyres (without breaking the bank) on his MTB. Tyres that are on it have 275 x 210 on the sidewall. What would be the size he needs? I know the 275 part remains the same but does the width/profile change?
Thanks

They probably say 27.5 x 2.10 which is dia x width imperial, then again in metric ETRTO 54-584

So to add to the confusion you'll be looking for 650B road/slick tyres which is the other name for 27.5". Schwalbe Big Ben for example are ETRTO 50-584 (27.5 x 2.00")

I have used these types of things for years

When you put then on they seem a bit thin, but you soon get used to them. And they look like fat bloaters compared to road bike wheels.
