Assos winter bib tights, too warm for present use?

Hi guys. I've just bought a bike. I have no shorts at all, but was planning on buying Assos ones as the reviews are brilliant on various forums.
Rather than buy summer ones now and be forced to buy winter ones in a few months, would I be silly to buy winter ones now to use, given that's it's still not very cold? Will I be absolutely sweating my cobs off if I use winter ones now?

Depends if you run cold or warm
I just wear bib shorts all year round, October - Feb I add cheap leg warms and they do me proud riding most days down to -2
Still in shorts at the mo, if I get cold I just ride faster!
I'd get some cheap shorts now, some stuff in the sales due to end of summer stock, even if you feel the cold you can wear them again next spring

You might find those Assos ones are too warm for a UK winter anyway ! Personally I don't bother to go out unless it's above freezing and there's no ice (so more than 2C typically) and my Endura windproof warm tights are generally overkill for those conditions, I have some lighter ones that are much more suitable.
I find that decent summer shorts + running tights over the top works well for me most of the time, especially as I don't usually do many rides of over 25 miles in winter and I do use the running tights for running too. I have a couple of pairs of bib tights but only bought them because they were half price, my Northwave ones are great if it's really cold (around freezing).

Okay I'll just get some bib short.
How do assos come up size wise and which ones are best to go for? S5 or S7?

it has to be well below 8C before these are needed
if it isn't below 8C then a pair of leg warmers does the job nicely. I have some Cuesta ones that I picked up from somewhere for about £7 that are splendid - brushed on the inside
S5s are good, S7s are good too, but you won't know which suit you best until you try them really
you need a couple / few pairs if you are going to ride regularly - they need washing!

I have a pair of s7s and wear them from -5 to 35, when required just add Assos arm and leg warmers. If it's really cold I use my old 1996 vintage Endura MTB leggings over the top.
I find them, really comfy with minimal graphics. I didn't pay rrp for any of the Assos stuff but having used it I proudly would.

Same here.Shorts and running tights.
Running stuff tends to be cheaper than cycling stuff too for some reason, like-for-like.

The rationale for this is that they are expensive and will last longer the less I wash them
They are about 5y old and still look and perform well, Id say I use them x2 per week throughout the season
I wear them from -9 (a record!) to around +8 and within this they are great
They also offer good rain protection too
If its any help Ive just done 4h at a temp of +10 and wore my Assos 3/4 - also from the outlet store
Whilst I do have a bit of an Assos thing I only really wear their bibs for rides over 3h
It just seems pointless as Endura or DHB or Planet X or whatever are OK on ones Ass up to this point for me at least
Having said that their stuff is technically superb, better if you can buy from the outlet which you have found
