12C Spider Sold
Discussion
So after only 10 months the 12C Spider has gone, loved it but have a 488 coming early next year & thought i'd sell now as I didn't want to risk trying to sell in December/January...
Bought for 144k in December 2014, just sold for 142k, so after fee's & 1 service, I've done 5.5k, not cheap but not too bad for supercar ownership. Well you cant hire one for £500pcm I suppose!!
Car was superb & if I'm not blown away by the 488 then I'll replace it with a 650S very quickly!

Amazing value for money in my book. Hardly any depreciation to speak of and service / maintenance costs in line with most supercars.
I think McLaren prices could even see an upturn down the line as the brand quickly establishes itself and starts conquesting more and more prancing horses. I have no doubt that the recent surge seen to Ferrari prices will eventually filter down to McLaren or at least have a knock on effect
Hope the 488, being an early one, works out ok for you but would be amazed if it was as cheap to run over 12 months.
If you enjoyed the 12C spider then 650S spider takes it to a whole new level emotionally in terms of feel and sound and performance wise with the added bhp but especially extra 78nm torque so it would be a perfect swap if required and cashback no doubt, kerrching.

488 will be massive overs for the first year, and servicing is free !

This post would indicate the reverse. The OP said he's getting out of a Mac and back into a fez (??))I think McLaren prices could even see an upturn down the line as the brand quickly establishes itself and starts conquesting more and more prancing

Bought from a dealer & sold via Alistair Bols, who I must say was excellent...
Ah the VR spyder. Was really well photographed and I kept looking at it
I think that was a great deal and you will get out of the 488 very well if you don't hang around for too long. Im sure its not about the money though and I hope you have many happy miles in her.

What colour have you gone for on the 488? Saw a white 650s spider the other day sat in normal traffic to me it had so much more presence than a 458 ever would but maybe thats because I'm a petrol head rather than just some randomer? Will be interested to see if you like the 488 or want to return to the mclaren... I personally think the 570s sounds far better than the 488 that is for sure.
