Few weeks back I posted that there was a Zonda and a CLK GTR parked opposite my apartment.

Just got a text/sms from the Mrs at Heathrow airport. A guy we know is flying with her on the flight and he was the one who ordered the CLK GTR! Not to mention the 2! Ferrari Enzo's he's already ordered.

Me thinks a spot of lunch is in order when he gets back here. GTR must be amazing but the Enzo looks out of this world.

Any tips other than feeding him to death to blag a drive?

Git! The best tactic IMO is to show enthusiasm, followed by posting a full report on this site. You must have been some kind of saint in a former life to have luck like that

Not a bloody chance of that happening! He's best friends with my Father-in-law.

How about this: agree to meet for lunch/dinner on the condition that he brings the car for me to see. Tank him full of Mr J Christ's very best. Then insist I drive him home(the extremely scenic route) as he will only crash.

I'm starting to think that. In-law has a 250GTO among his collection and obviously you meet everyone else in the big-boy league when you go to dinner/track/airport/anywhere.

Did bring a smile to my face when he first introduced me to part of his collection and asked me if i l liked cars. Banged off every model and spec to his amazement apart from the super rare ones. The thud of my head when I hit the garage floor said it all when I saw the GTO!

Yeah, saint in a former life sounds like something to add to INTERESTS/HOBBIES on the old C.V

er.. if your neighbours are driving such vehicles - you can't exactly be short of a bob or two! - but must agree that any opportunity to sample such vehicles must be seized with both hands! (best of luck!)

As an interesting aside, was at a function recently and the MD of the company involved had purchased a car for his Grandson... nothing odd you might think. However it was bought on the day of his birth and has been in storage ever since... and it will be presented to him on his 21st birthday at the end of November. No amount of persuasion would reveal the car... so any guesses?

That is very strange. I know someone who has done the exact same thing. Do you know how old the son is?

She does indeed have a very, very nice sister! Ahem!

The only problem is, she has crashed/dented her car so many times/driven up the wrong way on A-roads and all sorts of other mind-blowing (dare I say it) stereo-typical female/OAP driving errors that she has already been put in the black book. Thus she will never, ever sample anything other than a stationary(probably battery removed piece of exotica. If you don't mind driving around in a dented til next Tuesday Audi A3 while I slay you in some of Enzo's finest I'll bring her to a PH meet when I'm in town!

pah! my neighbours are so far away you need binoculars to tell if there are at home though normally you can hear the bugle announcing their arrival on a quiet day!*

Hey, are you implying that I didn't read the post and rushed to post a reply because I am bored out of my brain here in HK waiting for the next day to come before I get back to training without access to a decent performance car? Well, are ya?

I thought DeLorean too!

Other thoughts were a 308GTB and a Mk1 Golf GTI

Opposite my apartment is the major super car showroom in HK. ttp://www.carcity.com.hk/

I could always do with a bit more passive income so I could get down to building a nice PH track somewhere in the U.K where Blair,Bernie and the rest of the spoilers won't interfere with our motors.
