got a mk2 and thinking about this mod. anyone done it on here? you can use the 997 GT3 plenum and the larger TB I have been told.

supposed to add some more power and torque and make it more accessible across the range.

apparently its bolt and forget, so no mapping needed.

thoughts?

I think Mike from Sports and Classic has done this to his.

I'll ask him.

From memory when I looked into it, the consensus pointed towards it being a waste of time. In fact I think it was 9E that also went to the trouble of importing some for trial and found that only a turbo showed any gains and that on the NA cars they tested the results were rather negative.

thanks both.

yeah the more people I speak to the more I am leaning towards leaving it alone!!

Porsche spent millions getting it right after all.

some folks have said the only way to get more grunt is to change all the exhausts to sth like the manthey K410 set up so headers, 100 cell CATs and larger bore piping.

not even a remap seems to work that well on an NA car.

Hi, I have this modification on my MKII GT3 and unfortunatley I also replaced the crown wheel and pinion at the same time so made two rather large changes and it was difficult to see what was working and what was not.

I have got a full cargraphic exhaust system with headers on it and on the dyno it is doing 427BHP now I think that is over reading and it is a true 410BHP to 415BHP.

It does not have any irregularities to the curves on power and torque graph so all I can assume is that it is working quite well with the exhaust system I have. The other advantage is that if I ever decide to increase to 3.8/4.0L then I have the correct intake already.

I am running standard mapping.
