Saab Help Required

My Father at a youthful 74 years old has decided he needs his first convertible. He reckons his present 9000 2 litre is too lethargic so requires a 900 2.0 Turbo or a 2.3. I have the job of finding one. Does anybody have experience of either of these - which is best - do either have particular things to look out for etc. ? It has to be silver or ice blue or a light metallic colour with a pale interior and a manual gearbox. Also must have under 60k with FSSH and cost a max of £9.5k. I reckon all this should be perfectly possible but could do with some help to find what the problems could be and also to find the right car. Any comments or help would be gratefully received (or a lead to a car!). My mother has wanted a convertible all her life (but does not drive) so I am under pressure to strike while the iron is hot. Apparently his plan is to try the idea out with a secondhand car and trade it for a new or nearly new one next Spring if he enjoys it. Should I be alarmed that my previously staid and sensible retired Doctor father wants a Saab Turbo Convertible at this age?

Doh, we've just sold one. Although it was red with 180k on the clock :-)

Prices on older 900 convs have dropped through the floor as we are having a crap summer, I would say that if you shop about you'll get something pretty reasonable for your cash, certainly a new shape 900.

Call Simon at Offord 01480 811484, they are a second hand SAAB dealer, I'm sure I saw a recentish 9-3 there last week.
Also don't be scared by a few miles, 60k is nothing foor a SAAB, ours at 180k was only just starting to show it was wearing out.
