Previously when I've been, you park in the carpark near the main circuit entrance (or if you have the foresight to arrive on a motorcycle, right next to the gate!). Entry, astonishingly, is free.
You have access to the outside of the circuit and stands from Bridge to the corner at the end of the startline straight. Entry to the infield is with some sort of Invitation pass only.
In 2001/2/3 there were 8 or 9 teams there on the popular days. I'm not sure this still happens as there's supposed to be less testing allowed in F1 these days ? So there may be less teams, and not there for the whole period.
what he said.
normally the test drivers do the first day and the race drvers do the second and third days as well....
its been getting increasingly busier throughout the years, since i started going numbers appear to double each test session. i would say last years test in july had around 3-4000 spectators..... i dont see how they can charge entry but i doubt its going to stay free for long!.

Where do these invitations come from ? Been many a time but never over the bridge.

last year i'm sure they either opened up the tunnel or the bridge on the start/finish straight and everyone could walk over to the infield during the lunch break. they were walking down the pit straight but the teams had put up barriers and boards to stop you seeing much in the garage.
some people were on the pit straight during the testing but most often they are members of the teams supporters clubs. i know team mclaren members are invited but they charge for the tickets. debatable whether its worth the money, depends how much you want to meet a moody F1 driver really!!!

Hope Bernie E doesn't read this then! Must be about the only thing in F1 that's for free
At the Grand Prix, you see the cars going round in a procession for 90 minutes, sit in a huge traffic jam for hours to get in or out and pay hundreds of quid for the privilege.
On the test days, you see the cars going round for several hours if you want, no traffic, and it's free.
Bit of a no brainer if you ask me.

its pot luck i'm afriad. highly unlikely that the UK based teams wont be there though! so thats Renault, BAR, Wiliams, McLaren, Jordan and the other ones who have esscaped my mind at the present moment...
Thanks, that's good enough for me, especially with a one hour cross-country blast to get there in prospect!

Why do you think that ?
1/ thats the way it has always been in the past.
2/ they are all still behind the cars from Maranello.
3/ i said so.
