Retrieving a lost ride from garmin?

Is it possible to retrieve a ride from a Garmin Edge 500?
Downloaded via Garmin Express but the ride never went to Garmin Connect or Strava, I went into history but the only rides that I can find are from Jan- Feb.

Can you see the .fit file if you connect the device and go to the Garmin>Activties folder?

Had the same problem with my 800

Copied across to my pc and then deleted (from the garmin) a load of rides and the rest appeared.

Happened a few times where the file containing the ride is 1kb ... so effectively has no data. Unless you rode with someone else and can get their file, probably no chance of retrieving.
