Convertible hood stalling

Should I be concerned? Is this a sign of imminent failure?
When raising and lowering the roof of my 1999 9-3 convertible it's started stalling mid-way.
Release the switch and retry and it completes without fault. Is this an early warning system?

On my old Pug 306 that was a sign that the hydraulic oil needed topping up.
