Air cooled 911 box ticked...

Finally got my hands on some air-cooled Porsche - having been a dream purchase for a long time!!!



Needs a bit of cosmetic love, but mechanically very strong C2 - cant stop driving it!

Where did you get it from? I've had loads of water cooled 911s but always wanted a air cooled. Currently have a AM Vantage but think a 993 might top it.

I literally came across it in the classifieds one day, saw it the weekend and put in the offer after a drive and a shift through the history. It's not a garage queen by any stretch of the imagination, but has been serviced regularly by a specialist every year regardless of cost.

Paints being sorted next month - rust at the base of the windscreen needs sorting, and then I'll turn my attention to the interior - tatty drivers seat.

Mechanically it's very good - drives well, and looking forward to using in the winter, and my Clio V6 in the Summer!

Nice car OP, my old man got a L reg 993 C2 last September, recently fitted a decat cross pipe to it so looking forward to hearing it! From my experience of his, enjoy yours - they're lovely things to drive and exaggerate how big and heavy most modern cars have got

No, it was a private sale. 150,000 miles, sub-£30k. Actually prefer it being a higher-miler as I'll not be too precious about putting more on it!

I thought it was a good deal....and meant I could afford it and budget for cosmetic refresh and upkeep. It's Aventura Green, which I haven't come across a lot. Paint is getting sorted in September, with a view to bring in to PH Sunday Services later in the year.

Two tremendous cars you have there. What's the Cappuccino like? I've always wanted one but every time I've went looking I've only found rusty old knackers.

Thanks.....the Cappucino is fun in a city-runabout kind of way. Quick enough around town, but not much more!

Mine has spent its last 4 years in the south of France, and before that had new sills put in, so may be one of the more structural sound ones out there! It's also only done 54,000 miles!

Neglected to update this, as a house move got in the way! How the car currently looks;



I always knew I was going to have to sort out the rusty windscreen surround, but decided to go whole-hog to ensure the best finish!

Thought about colour change and clear indicators and the like, but the paint has really grown on me and like the "basic-ness" of the amber lights on a C2. So staying original. Can't wait to get it back!
