Cheap Towbar mounted bike racks

We are doing a road trip to Lake Garda in a couple of weeks and I plan to take the kids bikes with us (Ridgeback MX14 & Ridgeback Harmony 20" if types are important).

Has anyone had any experience with these?

That's a long way at high speed. The sit-on types, with integrated lights and number plate, are much better. (I have both types).

For just 2 kids bikes though I expect that'll be fine

I have one of these that has been spot on, if I'm going any distance on the motorway I add tethers to each end of the bikes so that it can't rotate

Are you sure that the crossbars on teh kid's bikes are long enough to go across the two supports?

All good points, especially the query as to whether the little bikes will actually fit. Doesn't look like it.
