Cayenne Soon

Late in September Porsche will finally unveil their Cayenne. We've been allowed to see selective press shots but despite the car being in existance for some time, this will be the first opportunty for les punters to see it in the flesh at the Paris Motor Show.

US pricing has been announced, with the Cayenne S - the base model - pitching in at $55,900 and the Cayenne Turbo at $88,900.

I live in Stuttgart and have seen the Cayenne several times in real while it was cruising through Stuttgarts suburbs. Ok, it was still partially camouflaged, but what you could see was its enormous size. It does look comparable to an X5. I still have not settled with the thought of Porsche building such huge things. They were a company that built cars that could keep up with much heavier, more powerful cars. Now all this lightness is gone. Sigh. Will they return to the lighter side or do I just have to accept this? Oh yeah, its the americans who are the main target for such a tonka war toy. Still, it is quite a change in their image.
