Hi all,
I need two rears for the bimmer .. it would appear that oversteer fun is directly proportional to tyre replacement frequency!
So i'm looking for something a little cheaper, but not too cheap. Have found that Eagle F1's aren't too expensive but just wondered if anyone has seen any good deals recently ?
FYI:
(Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 275/35 ZR18 95Y)
mytyres.co.uk
Supply: £311.60
Micheldever
Supply: £340.74
Supply & fit: £353.94
Local monkeys
Supply & fit: £353.94
Fit only: £we don't fit other peoples tyres
blackcircles.com (no PH discount)
Supply: £350.58
blackcircles.com (PH discount)
Supply & fit: £348.78

Snap.. Been sliding around for the past week or so, can't seem to get more than 2 months from stock dunlop 8080s, fronts are still ok (even though ive been thru 3 or 4sets of rears at this stage).. spotted those F1's on eiretyres.com (same as mytyres.co.uk) but im guessing they'd get melted even quicker due to a softer wet-weather compound.. abit like Pzero Rossas which are an absolute joke.
Been down the el_cheapo tyre route and had a blow-out at 100mph so wont be trying that again ,. Apparently Pilot sports are best suited to the M5 according to m5board.com, but dem yanks tend to drive around like oul women so who knows.

If you live near Bagshot Humphries will match any price you can find.
It's just useful from time to time to see who else is out there and who is competitive.
I agree that these cars seem to eat tyres though! A combination of excess power and a heavy car I think.
ps. Went with blackcircles in the end - took a couple of days after order, but all fitted in a nice place (according to the wife) local to me in Woking.
All sorted. Thanks PH for the discount!
pps. Worked out that the rossos lasted about 10K miles .. hopefully these will go a bit further!

Revolutionary prices are available from Johnsons Tyres www.johnsonstyres.com/acatalog/about.html
I just paid about £140+VAT each for two Michelin Pilot Sport 2s. They took a while to arrive but were a clear £80 cheaper than I could find anywhere else!
Cheers
