So, just checking out some cars for a friend when I stumbled across this site.

www.readytofix.com

They have quite a few cars on there. Worth the time and money to get something back on the road?

Some of those cars don't even have any real damage ?!?! Considerably cheaper than equivalent car.

Are there any places like this in Europe (to avoid paying import duty) ??

Really!?!?!

www.readytofix.com/Inventory/McLaren_F1_GTR.htm

Some of the prices seem plain silly. Water damaged 355 GTB $25000

Nah, I know that Macca is for sale back home. Can't remember who but I posted something about it before.

I don't like some of the quotes though. "won't start, no turnover". However, if you know what you are doing, not me, I am sure there are bargins to be had.

Would you choose a F1 over an Enzo?

F1 over Enzo purely because I could sling two birds and luggage in there and make a very, very quick and relatively subtle getaway.

Ray Bellm's car is the one for sale at Duncan Hamilton and has been for a long time - I'm not sure it is the same car as this one. I saw Piquet race this one at Le Mans in Fina colours. Murph - did you see the "door damage"....I think there was a nick in the sill too....

Water damaged cars - in the UK are generally written off as Category B for safety reasons - water plus electronics don't mix too well...

Never been in an Enzo but I have driven a F1.......mindblowingly quick. I would love one if I wasnt so poor.

what I need is a tame ferrari mechanic who can give me good advice .......

the temptation is incredible, but common sense tells me that I'd be buying a nightmare ......

mind you, have you seen the countach ?

I imagine that some people get lucky and really do get a car for a fraction of its normal price ....

wouldn't happen to me though ...
