reducing exhaust heat at tip ends

Got a mk2 6.3 with sports mufflers so no oem heat shields.

Wanted to lower the temps at the very end by the rear bumper. Never easy on 911 with all gubbings at the rear.

Was thinking of wrapping the mufflers and some of the piping in that exhaust wrapping stuff you see on race/rally cars.

Anyone done this? Worth doing.

Exhaust heat wrap is very effective at reducing temperatures but is quite unsightly. If the purpose of this is to protect the rear bumper, you may be better off having a heat shield made such as I have on my Evo.

not for me. that's a very jap thing to do.

I have gone for some OEM exhaust tips for the GT3 and going to get the tailpipes moves further out like they should be a prob too close to the bumper right now.
