Hello all,

Just acquired a 996.1 GT3 which has a suspension setup that is way too stiff for road use. Anyone have any shocks lying around that they would consider parting with ?

Cheers.

Are you sure, Slippy?

I thought the mk1 and mk2 dampers had different part numbers?

I got a knackered old set off a PH'er on here for a mate to get his 996.1 CS back to OEM at some point. Will just have Bilstein refurb them before they are put back on the car.

Morning. That's what I thought. I thought that's what the Bilstein guy had said when he rebuilt mine.

At this age, any used dampers you find will need a rebuild, unless they've had one already, of course.

Even if I found some mint-looking original mk1 or 2 dampers I'd have them rebuilt before mounting them. The seals will be perished. Would be gutting to fit them to the car only to have them start to leak a month down the line.

The only items that are different are those fitted to the 996 GT3 RS IIRC.
Cheers H. I've had the thread title updated smile
