Morning. That's what I thought. I thought that's what the Bilstein guy had said when he rebuilt mine.
At this age, any used dampers you find will need a rebuild, unless they've had one already, of course.
Even if I found some mint-looking original mk1 or 2 dampers I'd have them rebuilt before mounting them. The seals will be perished. Would be gutting to fit them to the car only to have them start to leak a month down the line.
