Apparently they did this last week, it didn't make the news here (UK) to my knowledge which is perhaps a shame.

Really interesting. I wonder for feasible electric motors are for future flight or how far away the tech is. Obviously the weight of batteries will be a huge issue.

It did make the news here (France) and also in the UK. Just didnt make the top billing. It was also in about every newspaper.

They also weren't the first, as someone flew an electric Cri-Cri over the channel hours before.

The airbus looks like it was a Bede design that they replaced the jets on and put on fans

Newspapers still exist?! :-) Well, it passed me by...

Sounds like a good controversy brewing as that chap didn't land in the UK and flew back to France... and another pilot claims he was going to beat them both (supposed to do it last Tuesday) but the motor supplier allegedly pulled permission to use their kit when they heard what he was trying to do- Airbus henchman to blame?

Anyway, electric flight all rather interesting.
