Just a quick question.

Want to jack the rear of my 2001 Westfield up (using a trolley jack) and support it with axle stands whilst I work underneath. Where is the best place to jack it? And where to place the axle stands? Any ideas? Have looked long and hard but ca't see a suitable spot.

Cheers.

What model is it? I would jack up an SE by placing the jack under the diff housing and place the stands under the axle. An SEi not so sure, maybe again under the dif and place the stands under the damper units. I can't honestly remember the set up of an SEi though.

Chris,

Mine is up on stands at the moment. Best place for them really is the rear of the chassis - you could probably jack it under the diff carrier, but best place is the rear of the chassis just in front of the diff.
Errrrm, to try to explain that better - it's the corner of the chassis where your ar$e is when you are sitting in it!

Can't find any ideal pics in my build diary, but this one gives the gist: click here. Where the rear chassis stands are is where I mean - the car is now down on axle stands in the same locations under the chassis.

Hope this helps,

Dave

Oooo Chris, I see you have a GTZ.
Got any pics or info, I'm not sure that I know what one is... I've seen the name around but never found any info on what it is!
