Has anyone had the coolant piping replaced on a 987 boxster or cayman? I got an advisory on my last service that there's coolant crust on the interconnects between the coolant pipes. They're rubber, so on a ten year old car would have started to deteriorate. Looking into it, seems like it's a £700 job at an indy as apparently it's quite fiddly and can take 3-4 hours.

Has anyone had experience of this, or replacing themselves?

Which pipe is it specifcally? I had my front ones changed when the rads were replaced a couple of months ago and I think they had to drop the steering rack to renew one that passes over the top of it.

yeah depends on which one?, i had some pink crust on the long one going from the water pump to feed the raditors up front, so it cost 100 quid for alloy pipe from porsche and about 2 hours labour, its taking all the plastic covers off the underside of the car that takes an age, must have been 30-45 mins for off and on

Hartech did mine just before I recently sold. Was approx £400 from memory. Depends which pipes need replacing as to the labour involved. I was told if the pipe over the steering rack needed replacing it would of been more expensive.
