Red Arrows to operate from Farnborough 27/28 th June

Don't know any more than that, but just seen a tweet from Farnborough spotters that the Reds will be based here next weekend for Guildford / Goodwood displays etc.
No idea on arrival / flight times I'm afraid, but there will not be a display, it's purely a base,

They don't have support aircraft? They will have a 10th jet though. You will also find the big arctic lorry will be there if it's a staging point for the weekend with all engineering kit and dye team gear.

Red 10 the heli is due in on firday at 12 local followed by 9 hawks at 12.40. This could all change however.

Saw the Reds fly over Gosport yesterday morning, about 11.30, very low and with full red, white and blue smoke on.

Checked their website to see where they were displaying and it was no where close, anyone know what they were doing?

Saw them at Weston-Super-Mare yesterday afternoon, they had come from Exeter Airport but the commentator said they had done a display at Portsmouth in the morning

Cool, thanks, didn't see them displaying as I approached Gosport (with Pompey in front of us), must have just missed it. Always great to un-expectedly see them though, especially so low with smoke on.

They still use one on overseas tours where road transport isn't practical. Usually RAF but sometimes organised through Air Transport, Air-to-Air Refuelling Exchange of Services (ATARES), which exists to match spare capacity in European/NATO air transport fleets with requirements for transport. Spanish, Swedish, French and American aircraft amongst others have supported the Reds over the past 10 years.

Was quite funny when a request went out for an engine to be transported from the UK to Holland. The Germans responded and were soon transporting a spare Merlin for the Lancaster stranded in Holland.

Wow, was that the "Mach Loop" I've heard about? If so, I think I need to find out when it's on next and go along. Brilliant shots, my missus would love it!

The Mach loop is a military low flying training area, so not "on" as such. You take pot luck as when you see something.

I love the Red Arrows, looking forward to the low flybys over our campsite at Silverstone, even if it does mean we need to get a move on to get to our seats for race start!
