Which road bike
Discussion
I've been looking online and I'm after a decent road bike for £600-£700. I'm new to road bikes and have been enjoying my mountain bike for a while, I feel now that I'd like to get a few miles in and do some longer commutes.
I've been looking at the cube peloton and cube peloton pro. I'm not looking to compete or buy a state of the art model just something decent to enjoy. Any advice/ owner reviews on the peloton would be a great help as would other suggestions in this price range. Cheers.

Looks a nice bike. Unusually, the Pro comes with a triple crankset, which may make sense for you if you are planning lots of hilly rides and/or a n Alpine trip.
At that price point - and bear in mind, there are plenty of suitable bikes available - I would suggest you look for:
-at least a carbon fork
-Sora groupset or above
-decent wheelset.
Funnily enough, the Ventura carbon bike from Argos comes in under budget at £499 and ticks all those boxes and more.
If the sizing and geometry works for you, it's hard to look beyond that.

Thanks for all the replies so far, that planet x bike looked a cracking deal but its now full price again.
I've seen that Argos bike in a thread on here, its a bit of a gamble I thought but a great price for the spec.
I'm going to ride a few in Rutland water in the next few days but I'm looking for any great online deals, the bike on planet x was a cracking deal but unknowing to me expired at midnight.

A slight budget creep, but the Rose is a cracking bike for just under £800. Full 11-spd 105 groupset, full carbon fork and quality finishing kit and wheels.
Had mine for a few weeks and it's a great bike - comfy yet stiff for efficient power transfer. It compares favourably with my carbon framed Canyon (which was twice the cost).

Here's mine with a wheel change:

Decent wheel set doesn't really exist at that price point IMO. Just accept what ever wheels are on the bike and upgrade at a later date if you choose to. -Sora groupset or above

Planet X is certainly worth a look or maybe one of the Giant Defy bikes. Planet and X are difficult to go and see depending on where the OP is based. Rose are obviously in Germany!
The shop I work in is doing the 2015 Saracen Tenet 3 for £650 - rrp of £950. Postage would likely be extra.
Tiagra groupset, disc brakes, carbon fork, nice ally frame with internal routing. Here's our website: http://www.summittosea.co.uk/
The bike isn't listed on there, but give us a ring and we can order them in.
We're also able to do some of the Rapide range fairly cheap, they're decent bang for the buck as well.

That is a superb looking bike, very very nice, at £820 delivered its a bit more than I wanted to spend, in saying that as already mentioned I don't want to buy a bike I'll regret so I'm going to look at the rose a bit deeper, thanks.
Be warned there's an 11 week delivery at Rose at the moment but you defo seem to get a cracking deal if you can wait with Rose, i have less than a month now for mine Everything else comes in about 4 days !

Much improved over the last few years since Madison bought them out! No longer churning out the s
te of a decade ago. To give you an idea, Manon Carpenter rode one to victory at the downhill world champs last year (obviously their downhill bike, not their road bike)

11 weeks?? Thats a joke! Even Planet X can do better than that. I'd imagine that's costing them a few sales. Not sure I could be bothered to wait 11 weeks for a bike. I recon you could buy a Dogma quicker than that. Everything else comes in about 4 days !

I have bought plenty of stuff from Planet X without any hassle but i've heard horror stories about them .
Ribble seem to be pretty keen on price for their stuff too.
