I've had the Z4 for around 8 months now so high time I actually posted this.
It's an O6 and had a bit of work including new lightweight alloys, AP brakes, Eisenmann exhaust and a bit of strengthening to the front and rear.
I bought the car without test driving it (stupid I know) but all the reviews indicated I would like it, the "alternative TVR" references were the killers given how much I had loved my 4.5 Cerbera.
On the drive back I new I had made the right decision. Sounds amazing and you really feel you are driving it. When you go fast you know you are unlike cars which closet the sensation of speed. It was the first car for a while I just go to get some milk and come back an hour later!
I had thought about all sorts of options when buying it, most a lot more expensive. Test drove a Masser Gransport (felt slow but sounded gorgeous), 997s (Was nice but it just felt a bit ordinary) and thought about getting another Cerbera wouldn't didn't want to ruin my love for it in case I got a lemon! Anyway I find this pretty perfect for what I need.
I drive it almost all the time with the roof down, the heater is pretty good with the wind breaker that you really can drive it in the winter. Performance is great although every now and again I wish it had some lower down torque, but when you get it above 4K rpm it really comes alive and feels electric when you keep it in that range. I also pretty much always use the sport button to get instance throttle response. I love the exhaust and it really makes the car feel special, engine still screams at 8K rpm but you get the low down burble when in 5th or 6th and just cruising along.
Anyway enough of the talking and some pictures.

Thanks, they are 19". I think they sort of suit it. I did want to get one with the CSL alloys, but these are actually a quality make and meant to be lighter than the original 18" ones, plus I always like to have something a bit different. dave_s13 said:
Lovely car. A mate had a coupe and it was epic but the hardest riding car I've ever passengered, fillings didn't last long.
How do you find it for ride comfort?
You don't want to live down a potholed track that's for sure! It does jump around and prefers a nice smooth road that's for sure. However I actually like the fact it doesn't glide everywhere as you get the sensation of speed much lower down the speedometer. I regularly drive to the airport (about 100 miles away) and get out as fresh a daisy and the comfort on most A roads is fine for me.How do you find it for ride comfort?
The only problem is that it makes you want to drive quickly everywhere as its a bit of a hooligan car. However when the sun in out, the roof is down and I have Will Smiths Miami playing on the IPOD, you can just about keep it at a nice speed and even sometimes use 6th gear
It's going to take me a while to get bored of this one.

I've had mine for around 8 years now and i still love it, it feels VERY special and i agree, its getting better with ages as i look around the roads now days, bangle totally nailed this design. Try and find some roof hole covers for when the tops down, the difference to wind noise and the general cleanness to the look of the car with the roof down is huge! See my pic, they are very expensive as they were discontinued some time ago and everyone charges silly money for them, keep searching and you'll get a pair at decent price! Small roadster with that engine is a such a win to be able to enjoy as the times have changed! enjoy it and look after it, they are getting rather pricey now days and suspect this will continue as the years rolls on.

Yours does looks very good indeed. What are the side skirts you have fitted? You have had me trawling the net now for the covers, do you happen to know the part number? In terms of price, I had a look the other day and it looks like they have actually gone up slightly from when I bought it already.
I know soft top BMW's are not normally when the money is, but given this is actually a little quicker than it's coupe sister round a track and was built as a roadster in the first place, you never know. Not that it really bothers me, the joy of driving it was worth the cost.

the side skirts are the bmw aero sills which add significant width to the car, then it has the new bmw performance sill covers, both not cheap but wanted quality pieces. hmmmm not sure on values as I'm not overly bothered myself but looking at good z3mr i can only assume these will go the same way as the base car is pretty ACE and very capable :-) ill dig out the relevant info on the roof covers :-)In terms of price, I had a look the other day and it looks like they have actually gone up slightly from when I bought it already.

I have an Interlagos Blue Z4MR too - and love it for the engine more than anything else. The engine is such a screaming banshee and is the heart of the car. It never feels particularly composed or fluid, like say, the Boxster S I considered at the same time, but I love it for it's madness - it just feels bonkers and it intoxicating, always. I've just bought an old 911 to keep it company, and that feels rather like a GT car by comparison. As you say, it's difficult to drive slowly as that engine (induction) noise is so addictive. I also love sitting right back over the rear axle - has a real old school roadster feel.
