I notice that the fella with the 355 in the article has an adhesive front number plate. Not sure if this suits or not. Certainly looked good on the E Types of yesteryear. Does this do much damage when removed?

I have one on mine (where the normal number plate sits). Did it as the normal one kept grounding and falling off.
Personally I think it looks better. And no, it doesn't damage the paint when you take it off (warm it up first).

Where do you buy them?

Although I think they are illegal, if you get a REALLY finnicky cop. Something to do with not being Brit Standard and having the correct reflective properties.
Like I said though, they'd have to be having a pretty bad day to stop you for it.

Fancyplates.com do all types, styles and sizes of plates.
I think they are based in Ireland so you dont have to go through the whole rigmarole of showing 5 bits of ID, the V5, a retina scan and blood sample that you need to show in Halfords these days.

Murph - has your car passed its mot with this plate on?
Thursday 27th January 2005
My 355 had a sticky front 'plate' when I bought it in May 04. The car was MOT'd with the sticky just before I collected it. I am not sure about the legality of it [not been stopped yet] but it does help with clearance. I am planning on getting the garage to MOT it every year.
