Well actually not hack bike as such but more of a (whispers) n-1!

I have an opportunity to sell my MTB commuter and winter road bike and replace them with one of the currently fashionable "gravel" bikes which seem to tick all of my boxes

Im fortunate that I can get a Diverge Smartweld or a carbon GT Grade in budget through the ride to work initiative and TBH I cant split the two

It pretty much boils down to which of them will weather the next 15 winters as well as my current bikes have - both aluminium
The commuter has signs of paint bubbling where there has been water ingress, the road bike less so but still noticeable
Each also bear scars of resting against railings and walls and of having locks thrown around them

Heart says buy the GT Grade - the naked carbon looks lovely and there cant be many more inert substances but abrasion resistance concerns me
Head says buy the Diverge - it also has rack mounts the GT doesnt, this isnt a biggie although it wont take SKS longboards which the GT will only model specific Specialized guards and weather protection is high on my list of priorities

Comments welcome smile
