I took my car in for its 111 point check for the extended warranty and was told that there were a few problems including leaks from the front diff and from the engine.

As of now, I have no cover until these are fixed which is very annoying but I will be taking the car back next week.

After a bit of research, the front diff seems to be quite common and is just an O ring. And worst case is a diff rebuild. Would this be correct?

Now the engine seems to be a different kettle of fish with everything ranging from seals to having new turbos. The work will all be covered be the warranty but it is quite annoying considering the car is only on 88,000km. I never had any problems with my M3!

Has anyone experienced these problems and what was the outcome?

Never had any engine oil leaks over 73,000 miles. Had the diff leak and it was fixed for circa £300. If front diff beyond repair you'd be better off buying a used diff as new they're 5-6000 euros.

I had the front diff leak on a 997 turbo. O-Ring. Engine leak you need to check.

Fully agree! Not happy with the Porsche quality at all! I got a 997.2 GT3 now and probably close to 10k in warranty claims for the past 12 month. Not to mention the 10k you have to put in to make it go around the track!

Sorry. After re-reading my post I wasn't too clear.

All of the work will be covered and I don't have to pay a penny. My 'new' warranty cannot be issued until all of the faults have been rectified.

Perfect! Was wondering about that!

Just picked the car up. The diff leak was caused by worn rubber and the engine leak was traced to a leaking oil sensor. I was expecting worse to be honest.
