EuroTrip in a EuroBarge

I shall be documenting the travels of me and my mates on our first road trip together.


Part 1 - Before the off

So, its been a long time planning but on the 5th June, i am off with my best mates for a trip across great continent of Europe, well mainly France but hey ho.

Lets start at the beginning. Back in 2014 while at Uni i was made aware of a great event, bratislava or bust, a banger rally for students. Unfortunately i was unable to partake during that year, and since then the company has unfortunately gone bust. However some uni mates did go on it and had a great time. So to appease my need for such a trip, i set about plotting and planning.

Recently after a few months of casual browsing and debating on the type of car, looking at everything from saloon to SUV's we settled on a nice and roomy, but utterly filthy 2003 Audi A6 Avant 2.5TDI V6 Smooth and silky power with somewhat decent economy. The car wasn't without problems though, we had to replace the battery, CCM module (common issue) and the barge also required 3 new tyres... Following a deep clean, the old barge is in somewhat of a decent condition, and is more than acceptable for 4 lads to be living out of for the next 10 days.
