Is it a case of MTFU?

Had planned on cycling into work but using a devoured hilly route (normally 18.miles around 1200ft of climb, planned on 30 miles 2400ft of climb)
But it's raining and it's incredibly windy. Should I man up.... Or say not cycling is probably the sensible thing considering the wind?
Don't need to get to work until a little later so was going to leave at 0930....
Thoughts!?

Yes and no, I usually avoid rain when commuting, don't mind riding in it, cant be bothered sorting out damp clothes and bags after. I just use it as an excuse to drive and take bulk loads of clothes in .
Did a century ride in bad wind and rain last month, really enjoyed it, but the rain knackered both my wheel bearings and my headset! Plus I got side swiped by a van as the visibility was poor

This is what was forecast for yesterday Severe Weather Warning
What happened to all the "you'll be fine" opinions I got then?

You will be fine, there is a big difference between not being arsed and being unsafe.
I've ridden in winds so strong they shut the royal parks for fear of tree's falling on people, I love it, but sometimes you just can't be arsed, today was that day.

Don't mind the rain, but its trying to get everything dry for the return leg which is the issue.
This was always a pain when I was commuting by bike. Sometimes I would pack spare cycling clothes and socks for the return journey home. Thankfully I had a spare office where I could dump the bike and dry my wet clothes on a radiator. It did used to make that office smell a bit though!
I only do 8 miles a day now on a folding bike, so I just suffer the weather. Also, its through the centre of London, so wind isn't a big issue there.

IT can be around Millbank, very strong there usually, and some of the side roads leading to river on the left mean you get gusts. But certainly in Richmond Park it can get very windy due to it being fairly exposed (in london terms)!Thankfully I had a spare office where I could dump the bike and dry my wet clothes on a radiator. Just me that cycled in then...
Took me about 15 mins longer than usual due to the head wind, and the occasional cross wind gust buffeted me sideways. I survived and despite my legs aching today more than usual, I don't think it was particularly unsafe.
As has been mentioned before, see Rules #5 and #9. I rode through worse in the winter... in the dark.

Its Tuesday night so I'll be out tonight (not missed a Tuesday night ride since October), looking at the weather it will be at the tail end of the worst of the wind but still 20+ MPH, may stay out of the Forest!
There is a Tarmac Shared Path which I use on both my MTB and Road Bike, my Strava PB is still on an MTB ride due to the wind!

It's not the wind, its science telling you that you need a new road bike. The one you have is clearly slower than your MTB There is a Tarmac Shared Path which I use on both my MTB and Road Bike, my Strava PB is still on an MTB ride due to the wind!

I looked out the window this morning having planned to race tonight and ride in to work and thought 'f
k that' and got the train.
Obviously I will have to go out tonight and do something but given today is the last day of this ridiculous November weather I can't be arsed with it.
There is always the midnight Velopark race tomorrow
