Hi everyone.

I have a 1998 Supersprint with a 1700 Crossflow engine. Unfortunately one of the rings has deeply scored the bore face. I can't find details of maximum bore for this block and whether it's possibly to sleeve it. Can anyone help or know where I can find some info on this?

Thanks

Chris

Do you know if it is a 711 or AX block? The AX is a thicker walled block and when mine was rebuilt it was bored out to 1800cc and used an 85.9mm piston. I'm not sure there is much scope on the 711.

You could speak to one of the old school engine builders like scholar or Vulcan for options?

As said would depend on your block and what bore size you have think some 1700 are 1690 and some are 1720. My 1700 needed a rebore and new pistons and im sure its now using 84mm pistons. My engine was build by a Caterham specialist in Potters Bar Protune/Rat Race and cant fault the build for the power i have for the spec of the engine
