Having just had a look around bored on the web, I came accross the SVT Website from Ford, and in there I found this...

www.svt.ford.com/flash/index.html

Why do they get the damn things before us. I want one...

Is not the US-spec SVT the same as the UK / EU -spec ST170?

with the exception of a few federal changes.

SVT is the same thing as RS/ST in this country. Its just the tuning department. Special Vehicle Team I think it stands for.

The SVT Focus comes in two variants - the ZX3 and the ZX5 (there might even be a wagon, but haven't looked it up recently).

Basically, this is the Focus ST170... the RS is a "niche" product aimed squarely at the people who want a "rally car for the road" so won't be seen across the pond...

They've had the ZX3 and ZX5 over here (US) since the Focus started selling here - its simply a level of exterior trim (quasi -sporty) in 3 or 5 door body-shell.
The SVT is new over here and is currently being lamely plugged by Mr. Ford himself on TV. (Although I'm sure they sell it as an SVT ZX3 & SVT ZX5)
