OK so I know I have been looking into upgrading various bits on my Triban 5 bike, but in the end, man logic prevailed and I decided a shiny new bike was the answer!
I went along to Hooked On Cycling today in Bathgate to see what they had, I was thinking either a Scott Speedster 20/10 or a Cube Peloton.
When I walked in I saw they had a Cube Agree GTC Carbon bike, 2014 model available from £1399 down to £999 so I was talking to the guy about that one.
He took all my measurements and said that the bike they had in stock should be a good fit so I was ready to go ahead with that...until he checked the stock on the computer and they no longer had that one available
He said they wouldn't be able to get ny more in either.
Because we had gotten so far down the path of talking about a carbon, he said he could do me a deal on a new Scott CR1 20 carbon bike - retail is £1399 and he offered me it for £1100 which I thought was a decent discount.
So I have ordered it and will pick it up in 2 weeks time - once they build it i'll go in for a proper fitting before I take it away.
I have also bought some Keo Classic 2 pedals to go with it and matching shoes.
So I am looking forward to getting on the road with a compact chainset and seeing what a difference the carbon makes - the bike does feel incredibly light to me.

I bought mine below about 4 weeks ago making the jump from an old steel framed Bianchi. The difference is night and day.
I'd say use it for a while to get used to it then, if budget allows, upgrade the wheels. I'm not joking, it is the best mod I've ever made to anything.
I bought Fulcrum Racing 3's which are the same as Campagnolo Zondas (bar the graphics and white hubs). Available for £275 the pair from wiggle. I couldn't stop smiling on a sportive last weekend. They roll forever and the difference they make when climbing is great. Read some reviews on Wiggle.
Anyway, enjoy your bike, it will be great. I was choosing between one of those or my Foil as the Foil is a bit racey for mega miles apparently whereas yours is a touch more comfy. Couldn't resist the Foil but I'd have been mega happy with either to be honest.
PS If you ever do change your wheels go to 25c conti GP4000s. They're more comfy, grippy and as fast as 23c. Plus you then have your old wheels/tyres to sell and recoup costs or keep for winter/training.

Ha, coincidence. I've got 23mm Rubino pros on my Bianchi.
I prefer the GP4000s but it could just be the placebo effect. They are definitely more comfy though due to the 25mm size.
I actually feel a bit more confident in the wet on the Rubinos as they have a more defined tread but again that's probably in my head.
I'd just run the ones it comes with for a while. If they're anything like what mine came with they'll be a budget conti but still ok. It's the wheels that make a huge difference but I just thought sod it I'll have some new tyres too. Old ones will be turbo trainer fodder next winter.
