12C colour preference
Discussion
Morning chaps, what would you say we're the most popular colours for a 12C ?
None of the cars currently available I would have through choice from new, I think as a sports car they should be a sporty colour.
I guess I am kind of answering my own question in so much as if you check out the classifieds there seems to be a lot of Volcano Orange cars around, is it a case of that was the most popular colour or is it a case of they are for sale because unpopular ?
I have half an eye on potential resale but wouldn't let that be a key factor.
My colours would be
McLaren Orange
Black maybe ?
Silver ?
Really don't think Volcano orange or red is for me, the blue like Tour de France maybe, not a great deal of colours to choose from.

My car is in volcano red, the colour is stunning in the sunlight. Black doesn't look great as it doesn't show the lines of the car well.
I think you need to see the colours in the flesh as though to speak.
Volcano orange looks good in the day light, but it can look a little flat in certain light conditions.

Volcano Red is amazing when you see it physically in sunlight but it just does not photo well hence in the ads it almost looks Ron Burgundy. Sporty but subtle, classy and different. Everyone that has seen my car has always commented about how much they love the colour ( totally unprompted its one of the 1st things they actually say )
Personally I never like black cars because they are only clean for about 2 minutes, show every mark and easily get scratched / swirled and hide the lines of car and any carbon.
I thought silver would look good but it just looks flat and too much like every other silver car out there like an audi TT. Not really a good supercar colour as Ferrari's also look ordinary in it
I actually like volcano yellow but realise that's a marmite colour and definitely a slow seller come resale
I guess my 2nd choice would of been pearlescent ( not flat ) white but it just does not pop like Volcano Red and I think it could age badly

Its funny that you see it that way. I think the volcano red and orange are the two best colours but to my eye I find the VR looks flat unless in its the sun light when it really comes to life. Totally agree with you about black and other 'flat' colours as you can't fully appreciate the beautiful lines of the car.I think you need to see the colours in the flesh as though to speak.

Its best to go have a look at them in the flesh & decide for yourself. 😀
I used to have a handle on this.
From common to rarest (in the UK, approximately):
Silver/White/Grey/Black
Volcano Orange
McLaren Orange/Volcano Red
Volcano Yellow
Azure(?) Blue
British Racing Green (probably <20 world-wide)
Ithaca Verdi (allegedly only one)
If/when I look to get one, blue would be the top of my list. I would happily have Volcano Red too. I would snap up a BRG one if I had the chance, just because of sheer rarity.

Not the best pic but I walked into the showroom pretty confident I wanted a white car, saw the stealthy black one and was immediately 'shocked' how good it looked. It was literally stunning. This car suits stealth black better than any other IMO and I wouldn't change it for any other colour.....except maybe McLaren orange, which is the purists colour and I think probably the best colour, if you can stand the attention!

Not my car, but looks the same - I'm not sure that black hides the lines or details of the 12C. What it does do is slightly alter the lines that your eye picks out - it slightly changes the appearance of the car, especially at the front, which to me is preferable. Also one of the best colours for resale.
