Well, it's been a while but finally took delivery on Monday and have done about 300 miles so far. It's, obviously, very good, even at less than 4,200 rpm. Here's what it looks like:

Nice.

Can you retro fit paddles rather than the buttons?

Yes. Techart do it. Is a thicker wheel with alcantara too. It's something I planned to do immediately, but I don't seem to mind the buttons that much...

I did the techart paddle kit on my turbo s and I wouldn't bother again. Yes, it gets the paddles in the right place and in the right orientation but it doesn't feel like the OEM pdk paddle shift at all. Very much like a paddle shaped button in terms of action, rather than a paddle, if you see what I mean.

Lovely looking cab by the way.....

Cheers for that - v interesting, and sounds worth giving a miss. Maybe they'll put the Macan-type paddle+multifunction wheels on the facelift models and then let us retrofit them...

I'd definitely see if you can try it first. The kit blanks off the two buttons on the front of the wheel and replaces the two buttons on the back with what are effectively paddle shaped buttons. A simple bit of rewiring results in left for change down and right for change up, so happy days. The bit I didn't like about it was that the paddles when you pull on them, come directly towards you, so that slight rotation you get with the normal paddles is missing. It's a minor thing I know but it didn't feel right to me, so I just didn't use them.

Is that a Black edition then? Someone in the gym carpark asked if mine was one and had no idea what he was on about!

So, (sort of) snap!
