Strong money, but someone will buy it. The cars will doubtless go to £200k and beyond so whilst interests rates are low these provide superb returns compared with other investments...

This was the garage that sold Jessica's old car from memory or had it advertised for a period of time? Hasn't that been recently fettled at CG since purchase?

Not sure what colour that was, was defo silver but not sure if it's polar or arctic. The new owner (spoof) sometimes posts on here so maybe if it is this car he will confirm?

The ship looks as if it has started to sail!

So hard to spot an owner talking up prices of a car model (EFA) they own! wink

Slightly rude but no offence taken - hey this is PH after all. The car in question is not mine, but yes I have two. I didn't buy mine as investments, I bought them to drive. And drive them I do - hard, very hard on road and track.Values rising from £50k to £100K plus in 6 months, yes I'd say they will go over the £200k mark along with other "special" 911's.

Likewise buddy it's not too hard to "spot" the non-owners on here trying to talk down the values of cars.

Now ETA (I know it's not one of your pair being sold). I'm not a 996 GT2 owner and have no interest in one in future, a 997 GT3 would be my choice.

I don't see them reaching £200k before we get a correction, but longer term it's possible.

They were a hard sell at 60k why on earth would they now be selling at £100k plus
You can advertise a car for whatever you want actually selling it for that figure is another story!

Anyone fancy a 997s gen 2 and a macan diesel... 250k buys the lot!!!

One can only assume you have been in a cocoon for the last 12 months. Prices have been rising steadily as the market has woken up to the fact the cars have a far higher intrinsic value than they had been given credit for to date. You are right about asking price versus actual selling price, but they have been selling for far higher values of late. Hence £140k, whilst seemingly high, is likely to be achieved given the rate of climb. We know of one car being sold for £130k recently. It's the same in Europe.

As for the value of a 996GT2, why on earth anyone would think they should be worth any less than a 964RS, 930, 964T, 964 3.6T, 996 GT3, 996 GT3RS is beyond me.

Yes I like that. Actually it begs the question, when mine was being redone at CG he gave me the option of genuine lower arms (which I'm assuming he's talking about, though I like the idea of lover arms in it) or some lightweight beauties designed by a third party which I think had removable ends or something making them serviceable.

Being a genuine parts fiend I declined and went for genuine (but substandard it seems) but these looked lovely. Are they really going to affect the value such that an advert needs to mention it?
