Driving to work minding my own business (Can't do much else at 6:45) and get stuck behind an aging diesel transit van.
After a few seconds the fog started, everytime the loud pedal was used big clouds of black smoke was shoved out the exhaust. Tried the recirc but too late it stank and I could feel the st sticking in my throat. (And the car's filthy now gotta go wash it!!)
Finally managed to get past him and then got stuck behond a skip lorry chucking loads of blue smelly cp about.

After all the stuff going on about emissions and cleaning up the atmoshpere whats the story. If it was a Co car the tax woulda been more than his salary!

This thing shoulda been off the road years ago. How do they get through an MOT or are old vans and trucks allowed to chuck cancer causing foul smelling st in to the air with impunity.
It ain't like you couldn't see it for about a mile surely plod should be getting these things off the road rather than trying to get people for 31 in a 30.
Does anyone else agree or am I going nuts!
I'm so ped off right now!!!

Totally agree, modern cars hardly polute at all. Some of the worst culprits are hgv's and buses. Why is it not a legal requirement for all new ones to have particle traps etc fitted?

I have nothing against old vehicles but they should be well looked after to reduce there polution

On a similar vein, have you noticed that if you get stuck behind a stinky old petrol car it's invariably an old Ford...? Sierras, Escorts, Fiestas etc seem to wear out and chuck shit out miles more than anything else. Oh, and those old shape Micras as well.
