Sorry guys, someone MUST have asked this before, but the search is throwing nowt up, so what are the official service intervals for a 1998 355F1 and what should have been done and when, ie clutches cambelts etc. How much should I expect to pay for the above?I am buying the car privately from a friend of a good friend who says the car is A1.Would I be able to purchase a warranty for the car, and again how much? Wasn't this nervous prior to getting hitched fer chrissakes.Purchase is imminent tho'......

I'd like to know this too. I've looked at a couple of cars' service books, and I get the impression they should have an annual service, plus one every 10,000km, plus the cambelts doing every three(?) years (assuming fairly low mileage). These are usually combined as required into one service each year. Is that right?

The cars I've looked at have rather patchy service histories - and these are at main dealers.

E.g. one car had missed an annual service in 2002, and there are no invoices at all - just stamps in the book. The only actual evidence of a cambelt change is 'cambelt change' written in biro above one of the service stamps. The other car is a similar story.

I'm not sure how much of a problem this is, in terms of either resale or potential mechanical problems.
