I have just driven back from G-Force Motorsport in Aylesbury with a huge grin on my face...

New exhaust and air filter fitted, sounds great but the best part is the rolling road results.

Before

A cool 310bhp at the wheels add 27% for 424 bhp at the flywheel(porsche say the standard cars are 414 bhp)

After

A stonking 340 bhp at the wheels add 27% for 466 bhp at the flywheel, this was carried out in rather hot conditions and I should be looking at 470 bhp plus when the exhaust has bedded in.

I can really feel the difference in the pulling power and can now hear the Turbo's spooling up.... absolutley fantastic

This is how the TT should sound......

Cheers

Lee.

Details? How much louder? dB levels?

Cheers

DAZ

Didn't think exhaust and air filter only would add 50 bhp!

I thought 15% was the normal conversion. Or is the 27% only for 4WD Porkers?

Lee77 - I have a 1997 993TT and have been looking at exhaust/air filter upgrades. Did you shop around before deciding on your upgrade and how did yours compare to others offered? What was the total cost, if you don't mind me asking, including dyno etc.?

Not sure on the db levels but V. Loud I think Turbo's get more bhp increases than normal cars with this type of upgrade, I'm sure that someone can answer why from a technical perspective?

Yes the figures are for the 4wd Porsches.

I looked around for some time and decided to go with the G-Force conversion as they seem to be real Porsche experts, very helpful and have a great rolling road facility too.

Car now sounds fantastic, the exhaust note was the only downside with the car before the conversion.

Cost was £2,300 all in.

I would recommend them to anyone asking.

Chris Davis is the guy to speak to.

Good luck

Lee.

Lee,
your Car is quite new. Have you told your dealer about the mods and how do they stand on warranty issues?

Hi Rich,

The car would not be covered by PGB warranty.

Got to agree with Kevin. When you have a limited edition classic, you are merely the custodian of the vehicle, originality must be maintained.

Not sure about the maths with 27% added to either its 393bhp pre conversion and 431bhp afterwards!

Even so 40bhp is a lot for a filter and exhaust with no boost increase or ecu reprogramming!

Still good power though. Get gemballa or ruf to look at it for the full 650bhp next!

Kevin/Daz,
I see what you are saying guys, but it is a flat nose convertion not a proper SE.It is only(!) putting out 300bhp instead of the SE's 330bhp,so would like to get power up to that at least.

SB, you might want to consider what I'm in the process of agreeing with G-force: Induction kit (~£450), 1 bar (max £400 depends on labour), map the fuelling (~£700) and de-catted (£800 for sports cats).

I would advise you go for a power run first to get an idea of the condition of the engine and relevance of the various mods.
