Its a 97 car so yes could well be imperial. Is there supposed to be any locking mechanism on these nuts, mine just seems to have undone! It went back on easily enough but with all the bouncing around it gets and just gravity it doesn't seem entirely surprising.
Just to be certain we are talking about the same part:

No, we weren't talking about the same nut, that one holds the upright into the wishbone, I was referring tho the nut securing the wishbone to the chassis, on the end of the rear bolt.

Anyway, no worries, it's still 1/2" UNF I believe. Regardless of the age of the car, it's still 1/2" UNF. There are quite a few imperial fasteners still used.

As said it's the machined nut in the image.

Many thanks both. I shall have to wait a few days for these to arrive.
I assume these are single use only. Might this be the reason (reuse or removal and refit) why it has come undone?

No reason for them to be single use only.

It's only the machined nut on a widetrack car with the top spacer - on standard track its just a normal 1/2" nylock.

If it's winding itself off the lower rose joint is probably knackered, or you're running an extreme ride height.

It will be the widetrack nut as its a 21. I'll check the rosejoint ans ride height is pretty standard.
Cheers
