I've seen this problem in the past so tend to hang back and let a convoy pull off so I end up on the tail. I can make use of smaller gaps in the traffic.

Well, if it is Wickham and we get a couple more then I was going to suggest 10am for a 10.30 saunter up there. If there are no more tha 3 of us then I'll go up the M3 to meet the others at the services.
