Herne Hill Velodrome

Going to the velodrome tomorrow for an induction session - 4 of us in all - me, my wife and two kids. Youngest doing the Frog bike session as only just 8 years old - he saved up his Xmas. And birthday money to buy his own Frog road bike so is really looking forward to this.

Has anyone done the session before and have any tips? I am comfortable on a road bike and have a spin bike (fixed wheel) at home so think I will be ok. Just wondering if it is likely to be busy/crowded as this may worry my eldest son - he can ride a bike but is not too sporty and may get nervous.

As a track rookie I was nervous, I rode on Welwyns a few weeks ago, and the corner banking is unnerveing the first 3 laps until I worked out speed is the key. The faster you go the easier it becomes. After that its just a never ending road with no oncoming traffic.
