This time i'm not racing (did a local race not the Olympics) Taking No1 with me and Wifey, got a golden ticket for free access etc, anyone else going?
I'd like to know more - what's the golden ticket and how did you get it?How is the track, have you ridden it before?
Cheers
I've raced on it and I was there for the Olympics, Its a scary place with lots of man made features and some great natrual ones.
I'm not going to tell you that its the best place i've ridden but i will say there are some features that are not for your nancy MTB'ers or give it a go Hero's.
It looked pretty flat on the TV but its far from it, what there is isnt big mountains or huge hills but short (doesnt feel like it at the time) very steep climbs.
I know they have put in a lot more trails and different routes so should be more options from the Olympic track that i rode, things like the triple trouble and the tree gap jump still remain so i'll look forward to trying them out again.

Its me in practice, wish i'd hit it with more speed as the back wheel dragged, i survived but many others didnt. (its a mind f
k as you cant spot the landing from where it is, only the river Thames about a mile away LOL)
The Golden ticket was a Facebook compitition to basically get the entry and parking free, officially opens end of the month.

I guess during the race itself the competitors just chose the faster route around any obstacles present which made it dull viewing. I'm sure sections have been built up post 2012 to improve the experience. There are three clear lines down that rocky section for example and I'd assume a blue, red and black arrow at the top?
So had a pretty good day on sunday, but because i had No1 and wifey with me i got hampered a bit when wanting to go for a real play.
Loads of good features now and plenty to keep you entertained for a couple of hours. Dont go thinking thats its going to be easy as plenty of people were getting well out of shape and making a mess of it.
Cant wait to get back and play properly without having to be a dad at the same time.
Its not surry hills or Afan but i'll take it.
