Right we've all seen those little fish stickers on the back of micras and the like and this usually serves as a warning that the driver of aforementioned vehicle has absolutely NO driving ability whatsoever and is about to do something unbelievably stupid.

You know what I mean.

Well at the weekend I was in Fort William and I saw a little yellow Smart Car from the Netherlands (imagine driving all that way in that little car) and on the back there was a little fishy sticker. Right beside it was a bigger fishy sticker but this one had teeth and a fin.....

It looked like the shark chasing the fish. Brilliant.

Now assuming that apart from the warning properties of the normal fish sticker I was under the impression that this indicates that the driver is a god botherer.

Now as I'm athiest I want one of the shark-eating-the-fish stickers. (I assume this is what it means either that or the driver is really anti religion?)
I also want it to wind up the god botherers

Andy

P.S. A82 on Sunday. Brilliant road, brilliant sunshine, superb drive. None of the numpties could hold me up no matter how had they tried. Superb

They are huge in the States.

Mainly because most people are christian and most christians have the fish on their car. There are loads of alternatives but my fave is the fish with the feet that says 'Darwin' on the inside of it.

Saw one a while back that had a grinning devil holding a toasting fork with the fish emblem on the end of it, and little sizzle marks coming off it

I hope you guys are joking,... the lord Jesus died on the cross to save us sinners and if you dont welcome him into your heart, you will burn in hell for eternity,... apparently.

The historical reality of Jesus' crucifixion is an essential doctrine of the Christian faith. Without the crucifixion the resurrection becomes irrelevant, and without the resurrection Christianity itself is rendered meaningless, i.e. I Corinthians 15:14 "and if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is vain, your faith also is vain."

Matt.

Maybe a reference to the feeding of the 5,000? Never seen a loaf sticker on the back of a car though...

Hey Guys, easy, easy, Not all Christian`s are numpties and drive Micra`s - You can be a Christian and a Pistonhead and love TVR`s - I have a Tuscan and a Chimaera and am very proud of them both - Im also a Christian and proud of that as well - the two things are not mutually exclusive.

Cheers

Christianity came about in the Age of Pisces so the symbol was a fish just like the Sphinx which was built (alledgely) in the age of Leo hence it was built in the form of a Lion.

There are loads of books on the subject: Holy Blood and the Holy Grail, Atlantis Blueprint is another.

My understanding is that the early Church used the symbol with the word "Icthus" (greek word signifying Jesus Christ/Son of God /Saviour) in the centre as a symbol of Christianity and so people would know where they were meeting etc - The basis appears to come from Matthew where Jesus says to the disciples:
"Come follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men." Matthew 4:19
Hence the fish symbol...
