Vredestein Senso's - falling apart.........

Last summer Vredestein decided to retire my favourite summer tyre, the Fortezza, and replace it with the Senso range of tyres. The ride quality seems good but they do seem to pickup a lot more cuts than the old Fortezza's, otherwise they have been OK.

I fitted a new pair of Senso's just before the end of the summer and put a couple of hundred miles on them before cleaning the bike and hanging it up for the winter (and partially deflating the tyres). With the weather staring to take a turn for the better I have got the summer bike ready for riding, pumped the tyres back up to 110 psi and noticed the rubber in the centre of the tyre has delaminated and split the entire diameter of the tyre, they might be OK to ride but there is no way I would trust them......

I mentioned it to someone else who I ride with and he has had exactly the same thing happen to him. Just wondered if anyone else on here has had a similar experience and if Vredestien should be recalling a batch of tyres?

Interesting to know as I have the older non senso pair on one bike that need replacing soon . Can you not get any old stock of the last model, that is what I might do?

I did look for old stock but could only find it in colours - and being a bit of a bike tart prefer my tyres black!!

I have written to Vredestein with supporting photo's of the offending tyres and will let you know how I get on, in the meantime CRC have some cracking deals on Michelin Pro3's so I thought I would give them a go.

Pro4s Pro4s Pro4s! In Service Course trim, very, VERY similar to the Fortezza Tricomps, only a bit better, and even more comfortable.

I used to run the Vreds, but had the sidewall fail on them pretty quickly. Not impressed. Although better than Schwalbes!
