Love the e34 but that is very pricey, or is it?
f
k that, there was a mint 1995 N reg E34 I saw for just before christmas, had similar miles to that and was up for £10,995! Was preferrable in my eyes as it wasn't one of the Edition cars, just in plain old silver with black leather, but still having the later 6 speed box and bigger brakes. Was too late ringing the bloke mind...

I sold my E34 M5 Rosso Red LE ( a UK dealer edition to mark the end of RHD E34's) a few years ago. The car had huge history, some equally vast bills including new EDC dampers, a top end engine rebuild, new leather interior, new tyres and a lower body respray, plus fuel lines and a professional detail for £12,495. It had fewer miles than the advertised car. The best kept garage queens are still only worth £12,500 to £13,000 regardless of mileage and condition. The E34's and E39's have no motorsport connection and unlike E30's just won't rise in value. A car to be driven hard frequently, not locked away and kept to sell on one day.
Also the running costs can be steep if you do not have the engine properly serviced and the valve clearances checked every 8,000 miles. They also like some oil which is always worth checking.
A daft price for a not pristine motor.

The E34 M5 looks a decent enough car, the vendor might struggle to shift it at that price?
I am actively looking for an E34 M5 just now, a 6 Speed Saloon or Touring being top of the list. It's slim pickings indeed for any good E34 M5s , it's just about biding ones time I suppose. I drove LE 35/50 about fifteen years ago when my local main dealer was retailing it for 18K. I couldn't quite stretch to that one and have since missed out on a couple more LEs, a Rosso Red one would be nice!

The classic car market has moved on a lot in the last few years. I think your valuation of the best garage queens being worth £12,500 to £13,000 is something you tell yourself, as you don't like to admit that your car would be worth more today. A very low mileage rare 20 Jahre sold for €115,000 recently in Holland. Also the running costs can be steep if you do not have the engine properly serviced and the valve clearances checked every 8,000 miles. They also like some oil which is always worth checking.

The E28 M5 has no motorsport connection either(apart from the M88 engine) and prices for those cars are soaring. E34 M5's are rarer than ever now as all the rough ones have been broken and excellent cars are very thin on the ground. People are now turning to expensive restorations due to the lack of good cars on the market.
I don't think the seller will achieve the £24,850 he wants for the LE but prices are on the up. The E34 M5 was a low production hand built car and BMW are not making any more NA straight six motorsport engines (Which was their signature engine). If you can find a good one grab it, I still think they are good value.

£30k for the E39 and it's got a shonky Chinese head unit fitted? No thanks.
That very same car was for sale at Munich Legends not long ago for £22.5k but minus 40 miles and the shonky nav unit! (The 40 miles difference being the delivery distance from ML in East Sussex to Bramley in Surrey.)Bayerische said:
Nice collection urquattro, a 3.6 and a 3.8!!!
I am twitching here with my OCD, will you please get the passenger door repainted on the 3.6, and a set of turbine wheel covers
Door was repainted - it kept me awake at nights. !I am twitching here with my OCD, will you please get the passenger door repainted on the 3.6, and a set of turbine wheel covers

3.6 is too late to be turbine covers, so its the non staggered wheels with throw stars covers.

That front one is on the wrong way round - it's making my teeth itch
every time it has some odd work done that involves wheels they are always put on incorrectly and also need changing, since done to save your teeth, like the miss matched door repaint that made my teeth grate.
