Am I right in saying that this fuel is only available in the UK?

Most countries I've filled up in around Europe have plenty of Super Unleaded (98 octane) on offer. I guess it gets consumed too, or the small 'Mom 'n Pop' places in rural France wouldn't stock it.

I wonder how different Optimax is to Shell Super Unleaded from mainland Europe?

Someone on the list recently commented that Optimax was sold in Italy though, under a different name.

V-Power. The Shell stations in even the tiniest villages seem to stock it. The garages over there are often not self service, but hopefully you won't come across the one we stopped at where the attendant happily puffs away on a ciggy whilst operating the pumps....

Optimax is the muts bits for the Griff...could't recommend it enough and I used to reckon Shell petrol was NFG used to make anything with an "i" pink
