Thought i would try you lot for help.
I have a MK3 grantura registration number PWC600 and am looking for any information on its early life. It was first registered to a Mr Ivor Walkinson Thacker of Upminster.
I have twice sent a request for information from the TVROC with no response.
Anyone owned or know of the car?

Sorry I can't help you with your enquiry, but I must admit I asked for information on my Mk1 from TVROC and did not get much response even though the knew it was red previously? hence I left the club!!!!

You can get a list of previous owners from the DVLC in Cardiff.

The TVRCC only has (some) build sheets. David Gerald were given the complete build sheets when they bought the pre80's stuff from TVR. Have you tried them?

Roy, sorry that you felt that you had to leave the club because we couldn't help you out.

My 'home-made' list of chassi numbers suggests this was 8/551 (you may already know this or have evidence to the contrary). I also had it down as being in the US around 1990, owned by a Mr Denman? Have you just bought the car?

Mr begbear,

I only acquired the car recently,
The chassis number on the v5 is 8/851
I have a letter from Essex Record Office stating that it was first registered VIN NO as S02 851 09

I have an email from Marshall Moore who has the car on his list as 8/651, this is what i thought it should be and maybe when DVLA went computorised they copied the number down wrong. This is why i contacted Essex Records, they originally sent the paperwork to me with the wrong year of registration so i have asked them to double check the Vin No details incase they got that wrong as well.

First of all, I can find no record of a VIN of 8/851 being produced in the Granturas so you are probably right, they transcribed the number incorrectly.
Secondly, does your car have the vin inscribed on an ID plate in the engine compartment or on the chassis anywhere? That would certainly verify things for you.
